    Introduction

    Sparta Taekwondo LLC (“Sparta Taekwondo,” “Sparta,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have under California law. It applies to spartatkd.com and to any information we collect in person at 2650 Shadelands Dr., Suite F, Walnut Creek, CA 94598.

    1. Information We Collect

    We collect information you provide directly and information collected automatically when you use our website.

    Information you provide:

    • Contact & inquiry forms — name, email, phone number, program interest, student age, preferred class time, and message content (submitted via our contact form)
    • Enrollment and payments — billing name, billing address, payment card details (processed by our payment provider Clover — we do not store full card numbers), emergency contact, student medical or physical conditions relevant to safe participation
    • Student profile data — belt rank, attendance, testing history (stored in our student-management system, Kicksite)

    Information collected automatically:

    • IP address, browser type, device type, referring URL, and pages visited
    • Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 6)
    • Analytics data via Google Analytics 4 (GA4)

    2. How We Use Your Information

    We use the information we collect to:

    • Schedule and confirm trial classes, lessons, and events
    • Process registrations, tuition, and merchandise purchases
    • Communicate with students and parents about classes, testing, events, and schedule changes
    • Respond to inquiries submitted through our contact form
    • Keep students safe (emergency contact, relevant medical notes)
    • Improve our website and programs
    • Send marketing communications (only where you’ve opted in — you can unsubscribe at any time)

    3. Third-Party Service Providers

    We share limited information with trusted third parties who help us operate our school. Each has its own privacy policy governing how they handle your data:

    • Clover — credit and debit card processing
    • Kicksite — student management, CRM, and school announcements
    • Contact Form 7 (WordPress plugin) — receives contact form submissions
    • Google Analytics 4 (GA4) — website traffic and usage analytics
    • Google Workspace — email (info@spartatkd.com)

    We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

    4. Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)

    If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

    • Know what personal information we have collected about you
    • Delete the personal information we hold, subject to legal exceptions
    • Correct inaccurate personal information
    • Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information (we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising)
    • Limit the use of sensitive personal information
    • Non-discrimination — we will not deny service, charge different prices, or provide a different quality of service because you exercised a privacy right

    To exercise any of these rights, email info@spartatkd.com with the subject line “Privacy Request.” We will respond within 45 days as required by law. If we deny your request, you may appeal our decision by replying to our response with the subject line “Privacy Appeal,” and we will review within 45 additional days.

    “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information”: Use the opt-out link in our cookie consent banner (bottom of every page) to disable analytics and marketing cookies. You may also email info@spartatkd.com.

    California “Shine the Light” (Civil Code §1798.83): We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.

    Do Not Track: Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) setting. There is no industry-standard response to DNT signals, so our website does not currently respond to them. You can control tracking through the cookie consent banner instead.

    5. Children’s Privacy

    Many of our students are under 13 (Tiny Titans, ages 4–6; Juniors, ages 6–12). We collect information about minors only from a parent or legal guardian, and only to operate our programs safely. We do not knowingly market directly to children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child without proper parental consent, contact us at info@spartatkd.com and we will delete it promptly.

    6. Cookies & Tracking

    Our site uses cookies to remember your preferences, keep you logged in (for student portal features), and measure traffic. We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4), which sets its own cookies governed by Google’s privacy policy. You can disable cookies in your browser settings or opt out of GA tracking using Google’s opt-out browser add-on. Some site features may not work correctly if cookies are disabled.

    6a. Communications From Us

    Enrolled students and parents receive school announcements, schedule updates, testing reminders, and event notices through our student management system (Kicksite). These are transactional communications related to active enrollment. We do not currently send SMS marketing messages; if we introduce text marketing in the future, we will obtain your opt-in consent first as required by law.

    7. Data Retention

    We keep personal information for as long as you are an active student or customer and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with tax, legal, and accounting obligations. You may request earlier deletion using the process in Section 4.

    8. Data Security

    We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), limited access to student records, and use of reputable third-party processors. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify affected individuals in the event of a data breach as required by California law.

    9. Changes to This Policy

    We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last Updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced on our website.
